The biggest island groups are Luzon; Mindanao; and Visayar. Minila is our capital. Philippines was named after King Philip of Spain when Ferdinand Magellan (1518-1521), a Portuguese navigator, who worked for Spain, discovered the Philippines on March 25,1521. Sincerely, Rodrigo V. The second postcard reads: Hello! Greetings! This is our Bahaue Rice Terraces, a UHESCO site. It was built more then 2,000 years ago with the use of bare hands and crude tools.
